ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The tradition of using chrysanthemum, cassia seeds, and goji berries in medicine or tea dates back over a thousand years. The Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing (Divine Farmer’s Classic of Materia Medica) lists chrysanthemum as a “superior herb,” stating that it “promotes blood circulation when taken over a long period.” Cassia seeds were already recorded in the Han Dynasty’s Ming Yi Bie Lu (Compendium of Famous Physicians’ Prescriptions) for their ability to “improve vision and nourish the essence.” Goji berries have been highly praised as a tonic in medical classics throughout the ages, with the *Compendium of Materia Medica* praising them for “nourishing the kidneys, moistening the lungs, and improving vision.” The custom of combining these three ingredients into a tea beverage has gradually taken shape in folk health culture, both preserving traditional herbal health wisdom and, due to its refreshing and smooth taste, becoming a beverage suitable for all ages and seasons.
To make Chrysanthemum, Cassia Seed, and Goji Berry Tea, select simple yet high-quality ingredients: take 5–8 dried Hangzhou white chrysanthemums or bud chrysanthemums, 10–15 grams of cassia seeds (which can be lightly roasted beforehand to enhance the aroma), and approximately 10 grams of Ningxia goji berries. First, quickly rinse the cassia seeds with clean water, then place them in a teapot or cup along with the chrysanthemums and goji berries. Pour in hot water at 85-95°C and let it steep for 3-5 minutes to allow the herbs to fully expand. The initial infusion yields a light yellow, bright-colored tea, where the bitter notes of the chrysanthemum, the subtle fragrance of the cassia seeds, and the sweetness of the goji berries harmoniously blend. Subsequent infusions (2-3 times) still retain a lingering flavor. This tea is convenient for daily brewing, requiring no complex procedures to enjoy its soothing qualities.
