ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The history of drinking peppermint tea can be traced back to ancient Egypt and ancient Greece. The ancient Egyptians used peppermint for religious ceremonies and medicinal purposes, while the ancient Greek scholar Hippocrates documented its soothing effects on the mind and body. During the Middle Ages in Europe, mint was widely cultivated in monastery gardens, and monks used it to brew tea to alleviate fatigue. After its introduction to the East, mint tea became a traditional beverage for entertaining guests in the Middle East, North Africa, and other regions, particularly in hot climates where its cooling properties made it highly popular. Over time, it gradually integrated into the culinary traditions of various cultures.
To make peppermint tea, fresh or dried peppermint leaves are typically used. First, rinse the leaves thoroughly (fresh leaves should be drained of excess water). Place an appropriate amount of mint leaves into a teapot or teacup, pour in hot water at 80–90°C (avoid boiling water, which can destroy the aromatic compounds in mint), steep for 3–5 minutes, and then enjoy. If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can add honey or rock sugar to taste; you can also add lemon slices to enhance the freshness, making it simple and easy to prepare while maximizing the natural fragrance and benefits of mint.
